My Slice of Life
I
grab my coffee cup and take a hurried sip, hoping that the caffeine will blast through
my body and prepare me for the day. I quickly scan the room for anything
I might have forgotten: setting up computers, turning on the projector, or any
other thing that might have slipped my mind in the rush of the morning.
I then flip the light switch off leaving the room dimly lit by lamps.
As I walk through the halls to the cafeteria I utter random hellos and good
mornings to other teachers and students. The buzz of noise floods my head
as I get closer to the cafeteria. My eyes scan for my student who waits
for me at the entrance every morning. I find him and give him a big good
morning smile. We walk into the loud, chaotic cafeteria together and my Thursday
begins.
